CCA Manila is a place where students receive diverse learning and meaningful experiences. It continuously promote academic and non-academic activities that would actualize the Vision-Mission of the school.
Programs are fast-paced and intense, and students actively participate and contribute their knowledge, skills, and talents for the attainment of the objectives of each activity. Activities such as grand buffet simulations, World Chefs' Day, salon culinarie (in-house culinary competitions), local and international culinary exposure trips, demos, and seminar-workshops are traditionally observed in CCA Manila.
Becoming a Chef
Remington Nocom, Class of 2008 Before I enrolled in CCA Manila, I have always been intrigued and amazed by how the different restaurants come up with sumptuous and creative culinary concoctions that tickle the taste buds of their patrons. Every time my parents and I would dine-out, I get excited because I know I will enjoy the dish that will be presented and served to us. With the desire to make home-cooked meals, like the ones in restaurants, I started to experiment… I collected and tried recipes found behind the labels of canned products and in newspapers. To be honest, it was a struggle; there were times that the outcome was good, while sometimes I ended up with disastrous results. As the years progressed, I improved, but I know, I can do much better! Hence, after receiving my diploma in Communication Arts major in Broadcasting and working in sales for a year, I decided to enroll in CCA to broaden my understanding and knowledge about cooking. In CCA, I have learned so many things about cooking and its roots. I became skilled in identifying different meats and produce; moreover, I experienced hands-on cooking of the different dishes around the world including our very own! The time and effort that I have spent in CCA is all worth it! CCA has molded me to become a professional in the field that I have chosen. Now, looking at a recipe is not a struggle anymore, but something fun and exhilarating, where imagination and creativity all come into harmony in a dish! For me, food has never been so exciting as this! |
