A message from Ms. Susana P. Guerrero President and Founder of CCA, Manila
the Center for Culinary Arts, Manila was set-up in 1996 and it was borne out of my desire to share my passion for cooking and to professionalize the culinary industry. My vision was to create a school that would lead the way and set the standards for Culinary Arts education even if they were still unheard of in the Philippines at that time. I, together with my daughter, Badjie, willingly took the risk, and embarked on the not-so easy task of developing the comprehensive curriculum with leading industry experts both here and abroad, and believing in our hearts that someday our dream of molding the Filipinos to become world class culinary professionals will come true.
Today, I am fiercely proud of CCA-Manila and its graduates. We pioneered Culinary Arts Education in the Philippines and we continue to strive to set new standards and meet new challenges. Our talented, dedicated and award-winning faculty come from the world’s finest universities and culinary institutions. These are the people who contribute to the molding of our student chefs and future culinary art luminaries.
My sense of social responsibility and spirit of “giving back to the community” has prompted me to put up the Culinary Education Foundation (CEF) and our main objective is to bring culinary education to the less privileged members of the society who would otherwise be unable to have access to CCA’s top-notch culinary instructions and state of the art facilities. CEF has funded the studies of several students in CCA’s full Diploma Program, as well as brought grassroots culinary and entrepreneurial learning through the “Super Manang Program” and its “Mobile Kitchen Program.
Another pet project that I am excited about is the Green Chefmanship. Again this is a pioneering course in culinary arts education. I believe we are all responsible for our environment and as an educational institution we aim to engage and ingrain in our management, staff, faculty and students a sense of responsibility and contribute our share in the “Greening” of the environment.
The Center for Culinary Arts, Manila will continue its mission to provide the food and hospitality industry with socially responsible culinary leaders and promote Filipino cuisine in the Asian and international markets through its comprehensive and dynamic programs.
I invite you to come and visit us at the CCA-Manila campus, tour our school, meet our faculty and learn more about our programs. We welcome you to the Center for Culinary Arts.”
